Homeless pets.
In Bartow County, there is no public shelter. Pets brought into Animal Control are given just 3 days to be recovered before they’re at risk of euthanasia.
Every Day, pets are dumped on dead-end roads, in neighborhoods, and in parking lots. Yes, there is evil in the world, but there is also desperation for the people who have tried everything. When rescues are full and the county shelter is too, what are the options…
Temporary home / family crisis.
A pet needs a safe place to land before finding a forever home, when a family is losing housing or facing hospitalization, rehabilitation, or domestic violence, we step in and make that happen.
They can take care of themselves and heal knowing their beloved pet is safe.
Path 2- Community Resources & Prevention
Before a family reaches a breaking point, there should be somewhere to turn.
A sick pet. An unexpected veterinary bill. An empty bag of food. A family going through a crisis.
These moments can happen to anyone.
And sometimes, without help, a temporary hardship becomes an animal surrendered to a shelter—or a pet left without the care it needs.
BRR works to intervene before that happens.
We connect families with practical resources, emergency assistance, food support, veterinary resources, Angel fostering, and community programs designed to keep pets safe and families together.
Prevention isn’t as visible as rescue.
But it can be just as life-changing.
Tiffany lived in a car with her son and her humans. We were asked to take Tiffany temporarily as they navigated homelessness during the cold winter months. This old gal received medical care and a warm, loving home.

Everything We Do Begins With a Foster Home
Fostering is at the heart of everything we do. When someone opens their home to a foster dog, they create the space for us to say yes to a dog who may have nowhere else to go.
Sometimes our foster families fall in love—and that’s a success story. But it also means we’ve lost that foster space, and the next dog waiting for help may have to wait longer.
That’s why finding and supporting foster homes is one of the most important things we can do.
And we don’t just hand you a dog and wish you luck…
We walk beside you. We provide supplies, help with food and veterinary care, and answer your questions every step of the way—from the hard days to the good ones.
You don’t have to do this alone. When you open your home, you create the space for us to change the next life.

Helping Families Stay Together
Not every dog needing a foster home is looking for a new family.
Sometimes a family simply needs time.
Our Angel Foster Program provides temporary care for pets whose owners are experiencing a crisis such as hospitalization, domestic violence, military deployment, substance recovery, or another life-changing event.
When capacity allows, we care for their pets until they can safely return home.
Because sometimes the best rescue is keeping a family together.
