Saint’s Story
When a family is in crisis, a pet shouldn’t have to be the price of getting safe.
The love we have for our pets shouldn’t depend on our circumstances.

Saint was more than a dog to KaliRain. When she was fleeing a dangerous situation, he was her constant. He was the one thing she could count on when everything else was changing.
When she finally found temporary safe housing, she was told pets weren’t allowed.
She called everywhere, trying to find somewhere safe for Saint to stay.
Then she called us.
We picked Saint up that same day.
Three Months of Safety
Saint went into one of our foster homes, where he was loved like one of their own while KaliRain worked through her situation.
She could focus on getting healthy and safe because she knew Saint was safe, too.
For three months, Saint had a safe place to stay while his person worked toward getting back on her feet.
Going Home
Three months later, KaliRain was ready.
Saint went home.
And that’s the part I think matters most:
We didn’t take Saint away from his family. We helped keep a family together.

People sometimes need temporary help—not a permanent separation from the animal they love. We’re building the resources our community needs so that when the next person calls, we have a place to say yes.
